Who We Are
Royal LePage is the largest Canadian, privately owned, national, full-service real estate brokerage business, with over 10,000 Sales Representatives and employees coast to coast. We're proud of that.
       Representing approximately 80% of our business is our Residential Division, bringing buyers and sellers together through the work of approximately 7,000 sales representatives across Canada in about 130 corporate offices. But that's not all: there's also the 112 member Royal LePage Associate Broker Network, made up of leading residential real estate brokers operating out of 140 offices in important non-core markets across the country, with over 3,000 sales representatives. All told, that's just over 10,000 sales representatives in more than 550 offices.
       Plus, there's the part of Royal LePage that extends beyond residential sales. We're also in the business of:

Within the Royal LePage family, you'll find:

Setting the Industry Standard
For those who define success by recognition, you should know that Royal LePage is the recognized industry leader when it comes to identifying and analyzing Canadian real estate trends. We publish The Survey of Canadian House Prices and the Annual Market Survey, tools that everyone in the real estate industry, regardless of the company they work for, find indispensable. Worldwide government agencies, corporations and the media also use these directories as invaluable resources.
       Of course, at Royal LePage, we're not just about business. From the beginning we've also been actively involved in charitable and social causes, because we believe in giving back to the community. After all, we don't just work here. We live here, too.

 
 
company history
It all started in 1913 with a man named Albert E. LePage, a Canadian. Albert LePage revolutionized the real estate industry in the country by being the first agent in Toronto to turn buying and selling homes into an accessible and professional enterprise. He actively sought clients through follow-up inquiries, took buyers from house to house by car and used descriptive ads in newspapers - all industry standards today. He was also instrumental in establishing the Toronto Real Estate Board which helped raise the standards of the industry. By the time he retired in 1953, Mr. LePage had moved the company beyond the residential market and into home building and the subdivision and sale of estates.
       Albert E. LePage began with a vision of what a company with his name on the door (and the words "For Sale" on a sign) should represent: Impeccable professionalism, Principled conduct and the highest moral and ethical standards. Today, more than 90 years later, these principles still guide us in everything we do.

> 1955 - 1960 commercial division developed
> By 1967, A.E. LePage had expanded beyond Toronto, and, by 1970, beyond Ontario -
    through a series of mergers and acquisitions
> A series of purchases from 1970 to 1976 gave LePage a residential brokerage presence from
    British Columbia to Quebec
> In 1974, the company moved into real estate development with the incorporation of Canlea Ltd.
> In 1984, A.E. LePage and Royal Trust merged their real estate brokerage and fee business,
    naming the new company Royal LePage
> In 1999, Royal LePage is privatized as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Brascan Financial Corporation

The Royal LePage Franchise Services Fund, a mutual fund trust, was listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX: RSF.un) in August, 2003. We are firmly established as the leading diversified real estate services organization in the country.

For new clients, we have a special first-time buyer's selection. With the help of an animated character they create, they can find a home-buyer's glossary, a mortgage calculator, property locators, amortization schedules and other general information that help them in becoming educated buyers and sellers.
       In 1996, the site was awarded the bronze Ace Award for Advertising Creative Excellence in the Interactive Mass Media class.
